Drawing upon influences from release-based techniques, floor work and Cunningham, dancers are encouraged to explore efficiency in movement through the use of momentum and weight. Imagery is often used to further explore expressivity and subtle qualities of the performative body.
Please note that this class is not suitable for complete beginners. Students should have some experience in contemporary dance or other dance forms.
Since graduating from London Contemporary Dance School with a First Class Honours Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma, Ellyn has been teaching children and adults of all abilities across London.
Since Barrie Kosky's Saul premiered as part of Glyndebourne’s Opera Festival in 2015, Ellyn has been touring with the production in the U.K. and Australia, headlining in Adelaide's Festival of Arts.
Previous teaching projects have included delivering workshops for Dance Umbrella, providing outreach work and Maths Dance sessions in primary and secondary schools, as well as teaching students of Italia Conti Academy of Theatre, Barbican, artsdepot and on various programmes at The Place.
