B-Hybrid Dance
Masc 4 Marginalisation

Masc 4 Marginalisation highlights and explores current prejudices within modern gay culture that are perhaps leading the community’s ever-progressive flow to a temporary standstill. Addressing masculinity, femininity and fluidity, we tackle the notion of personal preference versus possible prejudice.

B-Hybrid Dance was founded in 2012 by Irish native Brian Gillespie and is formed by a pool of stylistically-diverse dancers. Brian produces contemporary dance that is inspired and crafted from the hybrid of influences, experiences, and interests that he, and his company members have collected and practiced.

'B-Hybrid Dance are making waves in the contemporary dance world.'

Yu-Hsien Wu
Dirty Paw

Dirty Paw: A creature of its own shape and character. It’s new to the world yet somehow sophisticated. Where and what is it made of? What effects will its appearance have on you?

The choreography explores the purity of movements, which are interconnected between animals and human beings. The idea behind the piece is to delve into illusions experienced by people who suffer mental health problems. Illusions are like shape shifters and fickle characters, they change depending on reality one is confronting. It reflects our inner lives, but to what extend can it effect and change our outer reality as well?

Choreographer and Dancer: Yu-Hsien Wu
Composer: Khaya Mshengoristo Maseko
Dance Collaborator: Kuan-Yu Chen
