These fun, invigorating classes draw upon release based technique and floor work, leaving you feeling energised.
The class consists of set exercises, simple and fun improvisation tasks and dynamic travelling phrases. Dancers are encouraged to explore efficiency in movement through the use of momentum and weight as well as finding ease, fluidity and power in the body.
Feet off the Ground Dance are an all-female performance collective making innovative, physical and engaging dance in varying settings and contexts. They champion the female body, push physicality and work against the traditional roles of women in dance.
Feet off the Ground Dance have performed across the UK and Europe. The collective members have worked with a number of established choreographers including Punchdrunk International, Gecko Physical Theatre Company, Sarah Dowling, Ben Duke, Theo Clinkard, Lea Anderson and Tom Dale Company. The collective have taught extensively across the UK including at The Place, London Contemporary Dance School, Trinity Laban, Dance4, CAT schemes and BalletBoyz.
This Level 1 class is for participants with some knowledge of contemporary dance and over a years’ dance experience. You will develop your dance vocabulary and gain a greater sense of your body in space. Classes will work with longer phrases aimed at increasing physicality, performativity and musicality. Working with structured classes, you will prepare the body for an increase in activity.
