Shift is an exciting company of young dancers aged between 13 and 19 years.

The company meets twice weekly during term time (Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm - 8pm) to take class, create and perform work by a range of choreographers. Auditions are held each year in September and attract young dancers from all over London. Shift is professionally led by a rehearsal director and manager. There is a fee of £180 per academic year which can be paid on a termly or annual basis.

The Company works regularly with guest choreographers, and in recent years commissioned artists have included Protein Dance, Lisa Spackman, Martin Lawrance, Vanessa Haska, Shelly Love, Tom Dale, Zoi Dimitriou and Rick Nodine. Dancers from Shift have gone on to train full time at London Contemporary Dance School, Laban and Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

This academic year Maresa von Stockert, Artistic Director of Tilted Productions, has choreographed Planet Plastic for the 21 Shift dancers. This work was selected by a panel of young people from the Aspire Mentoring Scheme to go through to perform at U. Dance England at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Sunday 4 July 2010. Shift also performed as past of the Something Happening weekend on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May 2010.
