The new edition of The Place Report looks back at a landmark year for The Place in 2009/10, as we celebrated our 40th anniversary.

The report also looks forward, reaffirming The Place's role as a creative engine, driving the development of dance through championing the most exciting ideas and nurturing the most promising artists, who in turn transform and enrich lives through their art.

The achievements of the past year and our ambition for the future relies on support from many individuals and charitable trusts and foundations who share our vision for the future of dance, and the continued investment and partnership of our key funders: Arts Council England, the Higher Education Funding Council of England through the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama, the Department for Education and the Borough of Camden.

This support has helped make The Place a focus of excellence and innovation. Together, we will work to ensure that The Place remains a vibrant and fertile seedbed for growing art and artists of the highest quality; that for the next 40 years, we'll continue to shape where dance is going next.
