The Place and London Youth Dance at Sadler’s Wells are delighted to announce the return of refresh, a night of premieres from six of London's best youth dance companies.
We put a call out to London based youth dance companies to apply for the unique chance to create a brand new dance piece to music selected by renowned choreographers including Richard Alston, Kate Prince, Tom Roden, Frauke Requardt, Russell Maliphant and Mark Baldwin.
The six companies selected are Far from the Norm, Cando2, metamotion, Strut Youth Dance Company, A & R Dance Company and Khronos. Together, they'll premiere new works at The Place in two performances for refresh on Saturday 18 February at 6pm and 8pm.

Audience comments from 2011
- Fresh and now ReFresh are two of my favourite dance events of the whole year!
- Absolutely fantastic evening. Each piece was so interesting + different, and all the performers danced with amazing energy and commitment - it was infectious! Also great to see so many boys so into dance. Dance is obviously thriving - please keep putting on Re-fresh.
- That was the best youth dance show I have ever seen. So much energy. Such good choreography. Brilliantly organised. Well done to everyone.
- Awesome show, think there are some wonderful performers and fantastic teachers. What an opportunity!
- The dance show held on Saturday evening was a great pleasure to watch. All the dances appeared to be well thought through and their execution was brilliant and I would definitely recommend it to the others.
