There are a variety of ways for you to ensure that The Place derrives the maximum possible value from your gift in support of our work.

Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer then you can Gift Aid your donations to The Place. Gift Aid allows us to reclaim an extra 28p in tax from the Inland Revenue for every £1 you donate at no additional cost to yourself.

To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must be at least equal to the amount we will claim in tax each year.

Just tick the Gift Aid box on your donation form (printed or online) and we will do the rest. Alternatively, you can complete a separate Gift Aid declaration form which will allow us to claim Gift Aid on all your future donations.

HEFCE Match Funding through the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama
HEFCE’s Match Funding Scheme is designed to build the fundraising capacity of Higher Education organisations by match-funding the philanthropic support they receive. The scheme was launched on 1 August 2008 and will run for a period of 3 years.

In support of our Higher Education work for every £1 we receive, we will get 50p from the government, increasing the value of your gift to The Place by 50%. Plus, this new initiative is designed to sit alongside the existing Gift Aid scheme, so each donation is potentially worth over 90% of its original value. This means that an initial £10 donation becomes £12.80 with the inclusion of Gift Aid, increasing to £19.20 once it is matched by the government. All income generated through the scheme will be used for HE purposes only.

Share Giving
Share giving is one of the most tax efficient ways to give. Individual donors can obtain income tax relief and avoid paying capital gains tax.

Matched Giving
Many employers run a Matched Giving Scheme, where an employer will match your donation, sometimes doubling or tripling the amount of your original gift. If your employer is part of the scheme this is a great way of increasing the value of your gift at no extra cost to yourself. Check with your Human Resources or Finance Office to see if your employer will match your gifts and they will issue you with a short form to complete and send to us with your gift.

Legacies – Remembering The Place in Your Will
A gift to The Place in your will is not subject to inheritance tax. The current inheritance tax threshold is £325,000; anything above this is liable to tax at 40%. A legacy could lessen the amount of inheritance tax your family have to pay.

Giving from the United States
The Place is supported by the American Fund for Charities, a US tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organisation.  By donating through the American Fund for Charities you can ask for your gift to be passed to The Place and be assured that your donation is tax deductable to the extent allowed by law.

To make a gift through the American Fund for Charities please complete and return this form, or alternatively you can make a gift online. If you have any questions please contact the American Fund for Charities by visiting http://www.americanfund.info/
