The Place offers an unrivalled range of dance for children, young people and adults. Our Creative Teaching and Learning (CTAL) team is internationally recognised for its work in dance education, and particularly for its contribution to the development of new teaching approaches in Primary education, and with vulnerable and marginalised groups in the community.
At the heart of CTAL’s work is the conviction that movement and dance have the power to change lives. Whether through using our Creative Teaching and Learning Lab to show how effective embodied learning can be, by working in health and community settings to demonstrate the positive effect of dance on wellbeing, or by sharing knowledge through training and new digital resources, CTAL helps fulfil The Place’s mission of showing ‘what dance can do’.
Working across The Place and with partners including Crisis, Rosetta Life, The National Neurological Hospital and Clean Break Theatre Company, CTAL’s aim is to engage the widest possible range of people in contemporary dance.
