Shuffle is a pilot youth dance group for selected young people aged between 12 and 16 years who want to expand their dance performing experience.

The focus of Shuffle is on developing technical and creative skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The group also have opportunities to share and perform new work. Weekly video diaries provide a means of youth consultation and evaluation, and are used in all group decision making. The group will meet every Sunday, 2 pm – 3.30 pm from September 2010 until April 2011.

Shuffle is currently looking at the concepts of partnering and manipulation using creative processes influenced by those of Maresa von Stockert, Artistic Director of Tilted Productions, who is also choreographing a new work for Shift.

Shuffle is co-directed by dance artist Rachael Mossom, who has worked with Henri Oguike Dance Company, Keira Dance, Will Tuckett and Charlotte Eatock among others,  and Lia Prentaki, Manager, Community and Youth Dance for Learning and Access at The Place.

Shuffle performed Stacked Up (choreographer: Rachael Mossom) as part of the Something Happening weekend on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May 2010
