Designed for complete beginners this course serves as an ideal starting point to take your first steps in dance. Students are guided through the key principles of contemporary dance in relaxed and informative classes, which provides participants with a sound knowledge of the basic technique, movement vocabulary, coordination and confidence needed to prepare them to progress on to level 1.
Sarah Miller
Sarah began dancing at The Young Place at the age of four and then went on to work with Youth (now Shift). She trained at London Contemporary Dance School and joined the YDSP team as a teaching assistant in 2000. She graduated from LCDS in 2003 with a First Class Honours Degree and has worked with a number of choreographers, including Russell Maliphant, Jan de Schynkel and Martin Lawrence.
Sarah is currently working with choreographer Janet Randell and Cedar Dance Animations and also teaches for a number of primary schools in London She is part of the YDSP and Classes & Courses teams at The Place, as well as teaching on The Place's Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) programme.
