Preview: Sat 9 September    Semi-Final: Fri 15 September

Australian born Sarah Fahie arrived in London in 1994 to train at London Contemporary Dance School, leaving LCDS 5 years later with an MA in Choreography.  Since then she has been working as a freelance choreographer within dance, theatre and opera, in 2003 receiving a Jerwood Choreography Award for her London-based independent dance work.  Collaborations with composers Evelyn Ficarra and John Sweeney and improviser/dance artist Antonio Caporilli have been central to Sarah’s past work – as has been the influence of choreographer/theatre director Ian Spink, (whom Sarah danced for on Second Stride and Black Dog projects from 1995). More recently Sarah worked with choreographer/mentor Kim Brandstrup within the context of two choreographic research projects, the latest (‘Dancelines’ at The Clore Studio) exploring movement-as music seen and music-as movement heard.  Sarah is currently choreographing a production of The Bartered Bride (directed by Stephen Medcalf) with Mid Wales opera and working as a staff director, assisting choreographer Kate Flatt on a Glyndebourne opera production of Betrothal in a Monastery. Sarah currently lives in central London with her obsessive record collector boyfriend.
