Louise Katerega trained at London Contemporary Dance School and studied performing arts at Coventry University. A successful Midlands based independent dancer, teacher, choreographer and advisor for over a decade, in 2003 she formed Foot In Hand Dance and Music which has so far completed two full length productions Words Afoot and Pockets On Fire. She has performed for various choreographers including Jamie Watton (Edwards & Watton), Bawren Tavaziva (ex-Union Dance, Tavaziva Dance), Adam Benjamin (co-founder CandoCo), Donald Edwards (ex RJC) and Maria Ryan (ex-Phoenix, Wild Roots Collective). Louise has a broad portfolio of national and international choreographic work involving professional and non-professional dancers and frequently works with a combination of both. 

Louise is especially acknowledged for her national and international contributions to disability dance. She taught on the UK's first accessible further education course 1995-96 and at The Richard Attenborough Centre for Disability and The Arts 1996-98.  Between 1999 and 2002 she worked regularly as assistant to Adam Benjamin on disability dance development projects in Holland and South Africa and in 2003 was awarded an Arts Council Fellowship to create a new work with Johannesburg based choreographer Gladys Aghulas for the city's international Dance Umbrella Festival.  In 2005 Arts Training Central named Louise one of their offical "Learning Champions" in recognition of her ongoing commitment to the mentoring of emerging dance artists.

Louise is currently participating on Dance UK's mentoring scheme designed to develop future leaders in dance under the guidance of Janet Smith, (Artistic Director, Scottish DanceTheatre) and will be an artist in residence at Leicester's Haymarket Theatre from October 06 - March 07. Louise is also a board member of the Foundation For Community Dance.
