Jane Mason is a choreographer and performer based in Devon. She has been making work for live performance since 1997 and more recently for film. She trained in Dramatic Arts at Bretton Hall before dancing for Random Dance Company between 93-97.
Her first piece The Jolt was a duet with actor Dominic Coleman for Resolution!. Since then she has created further works including Desert, Be Still I’ll Draw You and most recently The Brow with live piano by Jules Maxwell. Jane regularly collaborates on theatre productions including: But the Living…, SEE-SAW for Quarantine, Mr Kolpert for the Royal Court, The Wasp Factory and Tell Me for Northern Stage and most recently SUSAN and DARREN for Quarantine and Company Fierce.
In 2003 she made Andout in collaboration with Duncan Sim, Andout has been screened extensively at home and abroad. The following year she took part in BBC4’s Dance Film Academy and her latest film Hard Told premiered at the Brighton Festival in May.
Jane has danced for various choreographers including Colin Poole, Charles Linehan, Wendy Houstoun and most recently for balletLORENT, Emilyn Claid and Mark Bruce.
Jane is an associate artist of Dance South West.
