Introduction

An image of dancers taking a professional class at The Place

Contemporary technique classes for professional dancers are offered by Artist Development from Monday - Friday, 9.00 - 10.30am.

There will be no Professional Class over the Christmas period, Mon 15 December – Fri 2 January.  The Winter term will start on Mon 5 January.

Click here for listings of our Professional Classes

The Robert Cohan Studio is open from 8.30am. It is recommended you arrive early to secure a place on the daily register. If you are coming from outside of London places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and be held only until 9am.  You must arrive before 9am and pay the Artist Development representative.

The classes are 'open' meaning you can attend when you like and pay per class. However the classes are fast-paced and highly-technical and some teachers will build material throughout the fortnight or week.

The class is heavily subsidised by The Place to support professional practising dancers. This means to attend you must have completed a full-time professional contemporary dance training course or equivalent professional experience. You may be asked about your experience when you register on the day.

Full details on our Winter line-up of classes will be available in our listings section shortly. Please see the Winter timetable below for next terms' teachers and dates.
