Every other summer The Place opens its doors and makes its resources available to professional dance artists with a thirst to learn, ideas to pursue and work to try out. Choreodrome is a research and development project where choreographers are invited to research their ideas without the pressure of a formal performance at the end.
Choreodrome is an opportunity for you to...
- Learn new working methods from renowned dance artists
- Undertake choreographic research without the pressure of performance deadlines
- Show work in progress and receive feedback
- Challenge your customary creative process and take risks
- Develop choreographic projects which integrate video and new technology
- Access the studio space and resources you need for your research
Choreodrome is also complemented by Touch Wood - a September season of works in progress danced on the theatre's bare wooden floor.
