Summer tour 7th – 29th June
The students dancers of LC3, the third year performance group of London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS), announce their annual summer tour, which precedes the End of Year Season at The Place’s Robin Howard Dance Theatre (Fri 6 – Fri 13 July).
The tour takes over 40 graduating students from one of the world’s leading conservatoires to venues in London and across the UK, including Dance East (Ipswich, 10th June), Sadler’s Wells (London, 22nd June) and Dance City (Newcastle, 23 June). The tour includes open to the public performances at NDC Wales Dance House (Cardiff, 15th June) and Rich Mix (London, 22nd June).
Led by Artistic Director Patricia Rianne, LC3 will perform specially commissioned works by professional choreographers Janice Garrett, director of Garrett + Moulton Productions in San Francisco, and Rick Nodine, LCDS’s lecturer in Choreography and Improvisation; The Place’s Artistic Director Richard Alston has also restaged his latest piece A Ceremony Of Carols, originally commissioned by The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury and Sadler’s Wells, for LC3. A selection of pieces of the students’ own choreography, chosen from the body of work created over the last year, will complete the programme.
Representing the culmination of their time at London Contemporary Dance School studying BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance degree course, the LC3 tour is the result of three years of dedicated training, which the students spent working with leading artists from around the world, creating, rehearsing and perfecting their skills as dance artists. The diverse range of works shows the breadth of their studies; the excellence of the performance demonstrates the quality of their training.
