ABOUT BETTINA
Originally from Switzerland, Bettina moved to England to study dance at Laban. She was co-artistic director of award-winning dance theatre company Protein Dance from 1997-2004 and has been working as a freelance choreographer for the past three years. Her recent work includes commissions for From Here To Maturity Dance Company, East London Dance, London Metropolitan University and the Watermill Theatre, Newbury. Bettina was artistic director of the National Youth Dance Festival in 2006 and 2007.

ABOUT THE WORK
The work will examine random but significant moments in the life of a fictitious woman called Nora Torrington, examining the nature of memory and asking questions such as: What will we remember at the end of our lives? Big, earth-shattering events? Births, deaths, divorce? Or the small details: Smells, glances, gestures, someone's laughter, someone's touch?  There will be four performers on stage: one dancer, one opera singer/dancer, one actress and one composer. Lighting will be by Jackie Shemesh and costumes and set design by Lisa Peachey.

WHERE YOU'VE SEEN HER
Bettina created Protein Dance with fellow Laban graduate Luca Silvestrini in 1997.  The two were Choreographers in Residence at The Place for 2003-04.

WHERE YOU CAN SEE HER NEXT
Bettina has choreographed a large scale community theatre show for the Watermill Theatre in Newbury.  The play, called Knight and Day, will be performed outdoors in a field near the theatre from Wednesday 30 July to Sunday 3rd August.
