Jeanne Yasko is originally from New York City where she received her MA in Dance from New York University. She was based in London from 1979 – 1983 before continuing her successful career as a choreographer, dancer and teacher based in Sweden and Denmark, and working in Europe, Asia and North America. From 1995 – 2005 Jeanne was the founding Artistic Director of NorrDans, an acclaimed contemporary dance company based in the northern Swedish town of Härnösand. Since 2006 she has taught regularly as a guest at Danish National School of Contemporary Dance, Dansens Hus in Copenhagen and at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Holland. Before joining EDge as Artistic Director in September 2010, she was artist-in-residence at the Black Diamond, the Royal Danish Library’s House of Culture. Jeanne is currently studying arts and cultural management at University College Seeland in Denmark.
