Discover the concepts of contact improvisation in these stimulating sessions. Simonetta Alessandri will help you explore new ways of moving and equip you with practical skills to develop your ability as a contact improviser.

You will learn tools for exploring different qualities of weight and for moving through all levels from the floor to the air practicing exercises which range from the simple and structural to the more complex and acrobatic. You will expand how to use your senses in your dancing creating exiting, playful and surprising dances.

Teacher's Biography
Simonetta Alessandri obtained her professional teaching certificate at the Royal Academy of Dancing. She has studied post-modern techniques and Contact Improvisation with the foremost teachers. Simonetta collaborated as a dancer and choreographer and performed throughout Italy. Simonetta has been teaching in Italy for 20 years (CI, Improvisation, Contemporary Dance and Feldenkrais). She kept Contact Improvisation alive in Rome through her regular classes and jams and she was a founding member of the RomaContact an association set up to support and developing Contact Improvisation throughout Italy. Simonetta also has extensive teaching experience in Germany, Colombia, Norway, Israel and France. She has recently moved to London and has taught at London Contemporary Dance School, Moving East, Independent  Dance and Goldsmith College.
